Men arrested for burglary of local business

Frederick police arrested and charged two men with multiple counts of burglary and theft of a local business on Thursday.

Tracy Delong Fletcher, 36, and Jamar Jerome Thomas, 20, both of the 9000 block of Breezewood Terrace in Greenbelt, Md., were arrested for burglarizing Rentals Unlimited at 36 Thomas Johnson Drive in Frederick, according to the police press release.

Police said, officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at the business around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

When officers attempted to stop a white van leaving the scene, the suspect driver struck the police car and fled the area, investigators said.

According to the Frederick Police Department, the officers pursued the vehicle and caught the two suspects when they abandoned the van and fled on foot.  The suspects, later identified as Fletcher and Thomas, were found hiding under a nearby vehicle.

Fletcher was released from the Frederick County Jail on $75,000 bond and Thomas is being held at the jail, according to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.   Fletcher has been charged with multiple charges of burglary in the past, according to the search.

According to the police press release, the property that was stolen from Rentals Unlimited was recovered and the van driven by the suspects was confirmed as stolen from a business in Landover, Md.
